taaj himalaya micellar water

Taaj was a french skincare brand I had never heard of before, but was introduced to by the lovely Zoe. I must have read her review of this product 20+ times and every time I would make a mental note to add this to my wishlist but never did. Until the other I was browsing through interwebz and found 20% off on the Joliebox - now called Birchbox - website through the whole month of January to celebrate their rebranding using the code BBLS20! The Birchbox shop is the only place I can find to order this product from within the UK (click here to shop!) and at full price £16 I personally believe it is totally worth every penny.

Micellar waters are used for removing face & eye make-up and this particular brand claims to be "purifying and revitalizing" and I couldn't agree more! It contains rosemary, green tea, chamomilla and natural water and describes itself as an antioxidant & tonic make-up remover that you pour onto a cotton pad and wipe across your face.

I have to say that I love this product! I've owned similar things before such as Simple's eye make-up remover and the creamier nourishing eye make-up remover, however both irritated my skin, even more so my eyes which were left feeling scratched and as though I had bits of fluff glued to my eyeballs! This micellar water on the other hand is very watery in texture with a scent similar to the Liz Earle products, a real earthy kind of aroma. Although it sounds odd, the smell is actually really lovely and feels very fresh and uplifting and does not cause any irritation on my skin what so ever.

As far as removing make-up, it is fabulous at scraping foundation off but requires slightly more work on the eyes however that doesn't really bother me as it doesn't leave my sensitive eye area feeling sore or scrubbed, just fresh and clean. I really like to use this on a bare face in the morning just to refresh my skin and get rid of any grub that may have made its way onto my skin during the night.

All in all, this product is a brilliant one and comes highly recommended from me! The only niggle I have is the lack of availability it appears to have but it's worth the trouble and I look forward to hopefully trying more things from this brand!

teacup candles

Teacup candles came into my life this Christmas and I can't think of a day where I haven't had at least one of them lit! The one above was given to me by a friend who purchased this little gem from a vintage shop in Sheffield. The scent of the melting wax is a lovely lavender aroma with a hit of subtle vanilla. I absolutely love the floral design and the gold accents on this candle.

This next candle was a present from my mother which she bought from boots. It has a very potent floral fragrance that I find very soothing to burn at night as it helps me to relax.

If you don't own a teacup candle yet, then you need to go out and get yourself one! Or better still, purchase some beeswax and a wick and make one yourself!

Happy candle-burning!

sweet talk but don't intimidate her

Heeellooooo world! Today is Monday the 21st of January 2013 and I have decided to start a blog! I'm obsessed with reading beauty, fashion & lifestyle blogs at the moment and after spending much thought, I'll give it a bash myself! I'm constantly making lists, photographing and taking notes so I think a blog may be a good way of keeping track of myself and will allow me to get all of these ideas out of my head!

Exciting stuff :-)
