silver rings

Wow, just look at those beauties!

I got these three real silver rings from my boyfriend this Christmas and I absolutely love them. I wear rings quite a lot and so it's nice to have some that are special to me and won't rub that nasty green stain all over my hands!

Jack bought these from Accessorize (you can find them here) and they were on a great three for two offer so go check them out if you're interested because these are definitely worth snapping up! Each ring has a gorgeous gem set within the metal - I have white, amber and turquoise but there are other colours available such as purple and black.

They remind me of old style jewellery as I feel they have a delicate vintage touch to them. I can't wait to wear these and stack them with some of my existing rings!

Did you get any jewellery for Christmas? xox

no.7 temptress

This was my nail colour of choice this Christmas - No.7's Temptress from Boots! A beautiful deep, burgandy wine red that reminds me of a pair of Topshop Oxblood boots! I've just noticed how much my nails have grown in the past month since I left my job at the bakery!

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and look forward to the New Year!

merry christmas!

*MERRY CHRISTMAS*

Today's the day! Hope you've got lots of exciting things planned! I'm getting ready for drinks with my family then we're going to enjoy my mum's gorgeous dinner this afternoon. I love Christmas time so much, I always get way too excited and then get all sad when it's over! I love exchanging gifts and then seeing their reactions, I love decorating the house and the offices at work, I love the food, the drink and most of all the time we get to spend with our loved ones!

I'll be uploading some of my Christmas pictures into one big blog post over the next week or two, so be sure to check back if you're interested. If not, you can follow me on Instagram @teapluscake to see them all already. Be warned though, I post A LOT of damn pictures!

I hope you have an amazing time, enjoy your day!! xox

carols by candlelight

Today has been so lovely. We went to my Nannan's house for lunch and to bring all of our presents down for her. In the photo above you can see some of the gorgeous decorations she has up in her house, so festive!

My mum and I also went to the Carols by Candlelight service at our local church. Although I'm not terribly religious, it was a very heart-warming experience. We sang some Christmas hymns, listened to readings and the bells ringing, and even watched a little play at the end. The church was decked out in hundred of candles which made it look so beautiful and comforting! I really enjoyed it.

What did you do today? xox

wentworth garden centre

Today I visited Wentworth Garden Centre with my Mum & Nannan today and it was absolutely magical! It's a beautiful place anyway, but near Christmas it is just absolute heaven! There are so many Christmas decorations and accessories, a huge ice rink and some gorgeous craft shops that are all drenched in twinkling fairy lights!

Just look at the cakes! We had a lovely lunch which consisted of jacket potatoes with salad, hot milky tea, scones with jam and cream as well as a cheeky strawberry and butter pastry tart! Yummy!

There were some beautiful festive crockery sets!

Bauble pick & mix!

Aaah, it was so nice! If you get the chance to go there, then go! It's an easy drive but once you're there you'll never want to leave!

How was your Sunday? xox

models own luis lemon

I've always wanted a gorgeous neon yellow nail polish and I've finally come across one that I am very happy with. It's the shade Luis Lemon from Models Own's Ice Neon collection, which you can find here.

The £5 formula is lovely as it is with all Models Own polishes. I've layered this one over a white base polish just to intensify the final shade. I really like this lime-yellow shade and although it's quite bright, I think it works quite well as a winter time pick-me-up!

The only downside? Because i've had to layer this up in order to get my desired shade, it has chipped already which it kind of disappointing but I like to change my nail colour quite frequently so I guess it's no big deal. It's worth it just for this gorgeous yellow!

chop!

I've been feeling very bored with my hair lately.

It's so long that it just knots up so easily and creates horribly painful matted ends (sorry for that lovely visual.) The amount of brushing and tugging that I have the put my hair through just to make it manageable has taken it's toll and my locks were looking more ragged than red-carpet-worthy.

SO, I booked a very spontaneous appointment at my local hairdressers. I walked in and demanded that she chop the whole thing off! Very unlike me as I haven't had hair shorter than collar-bone length since I was 12. I loved long hair, I loved curling it and putting it up and when it was co-operating with me it looked lovely. But when it wasn't, it was a nightmare.

This is my hair before:

Aaaaand this is after:

Snip, snip! It may not look very drastic to you but this is MEGA short for me! I showed my hairdresser some pictures from Pinterest for some inspiration and she gave me this lovely choppy, collar-bone length style! I kept my fringe pieces still long as I still wanted to be able to put all of my hair up if I want to.

Overall, I really really love it! I feel like a whole new person! My hair looks and feels so much healthier now and I'm so glad I took the plunge and changed my style up a bit.

What do you think of my new hair? xox
