insignificance

Do you ever feel like you've got a million things to do, but no matter what the list never seems to be getting shorter? I feel like that a lot. My head is just constantly bursting with thoughts, ideas, plans, worries, problems, solutions, lists and possibly even the odd pug now and then. Sometimes, it can really weigh me down and today that's what it is doing.

I get stressed super easy, which makes me worry, which makes me ever more stressed and the vicious cycle goes on and on. It can make me feel really down about myself and my life and sometimes the only thing that helps is realising just how insignificant we actually are. I know that sounds super depressing but hear me out! Just imagine the amount of people living on Earth today. That's a lot, right? But then imagine how many people lived before all of us that are here today. And that is a damn lot! The fact is that at some point, billions of people have felt exactly the same as I do now and that has made absolutely no difference whatsoever to which way the planet turns, whether or not it will rain next Tuesday, or whether the Sun will explode tonight. We are very small compared to how vast our universe is, and so our little lives seem more fragile and delicate than ever. Yet so unique! We must grasp our tiny years that we spend on this rock with two hands, and try to make as many memories as possible because nobody lives forever. And once you've had you're time that's it. Poof. Gone. You don't get any second chances.

Also, I like London a lot x

monday night coffee dates

I love a cosy evening in the local coffee shop sipping hot lattes whilst munching on raspberry & almond slices.

moroccan oil

This is a product constantly raved about in the blogging world. And so, I too jumped on the bandwagon.

I had my hair dip-dyed a while ago and it left my ends pretty much dead. I get regular cuts and trims but that doesn't seem to get rid of the split ends. I purchased the smaller moroccan oil treatment just to try it, and I can safely say I will be purchasing the larger size as soon as my wage hits my bank!

After a bath or shower, I rough dry my hair with a towel and leave for a while. Whilst still damp, I apply a few drops of this oil (which smells of holidays, fyi) and run through the tips of my hair as this is the place which needs the most treatment. I leave to dry naturally, and in the morning my hair feels super soft and nourished and even looks healthier which is just amazing!

This product has done absolute wonders for my hair and I would definitely recommend checking it out online. I also find that this oil brings out the natural waves to my hair which I really, really like! This has become a staple product in my hair routine!

Have you tried this oil treatment yet?

What are your thoughts? xxx

bumble and bumble texture undressing creme

I have been pining after this product for so long and after many sessions in Boots picking it up and putting it down, I finally decided to part with my hard earned cash.

The Undressing Creme is basically a white paste designed to provide volume and grit to fine hair. I have very fine hair, but I have a lot of it so a lot of "volumising" products tend to weigh my hair down. I applied a 10p sized splodge of this to my hands, rubbed together and ran it through the lengths and tips of my hair. I then worked any excess through the roots, making sure all product was worked well into the rest of my hair. Then style as desired.

I decided to air dry my hair overnight, secretly hoping to wake up to locks similar to those of Cheryl Cole. And boy was I pleasantly surprised!

My usually unmanageable  limp hair was transformed into full, thick beachy waves. There was a gritty feeling which I loved, making my hair easy to work with. I could even just add a spritz of hairspray and I was good to go!

Overall, this is an absolute lifesaver for my boring thin hair and is definitely worth the pretty hefty price tag! This will have a proud place and one of my top hair products so far!

Have you tried the Undressing Creme lately? x

face mask round up

I looooooove face masks! And with so many brands offering impossible promises in sleek packaging it can be hard to know which to choose. Here, I shall talk about my two favorite brands of face masks.

1. Origins Drink Up Intensive £20 - Believe the hype. This really is as good as people say. Thick and creamy combined with the most delicious fruity scent, you smother a thick layer of this over cleansed skin at night, go to bed, and wake up with fresh, plump and super moisturized skin. This has certainly helped clear up my dry patches and improved the overall texture of my skin. If you have dry skin like me and only ever buy one face mask, buy this one.

2. The Body Shop Tea Tree Face Mask £10 - Packed with spot fighting ingredients such as menthol and tea tree oil, the green cream feels cooling on the skin. You leave for 10-15 minutes before wiping away and my skin feel so fresh and clean afterwards. I wouldn't neccesrily say this has helped fight my spots, but it certinly does help calm and redness and also helps soothe those pesky painful blemishes.

3. The Body Shop Warming Mineral Mask £10 - The first warming mask I've tried, and I must say I really like the feeling it gives my skin! You apply it to your hands and massage it into a wet face, leave for 5 mins and wash away. The heat generated opens up your pores for a deep clean, and my skin feels purified after I use this. It contains uncoloured kaolin clay combined with essential oils.

4. The Body Shop Seaweed Ionic Clay Mask £10 - My favourite Body Shop mask, this thick grey clay draws out impurities to leave skin feeling cleansed and fresh. It also claims to help control oil which I have to agree with. It feels very luxurious on my skin and my face feels so clean after using this.

5. Origins Clear Improvement £20 - A super thick charcoal based mask opens up pores to remove all the clogged up toxins. I love love love this mask, it has a slight tingling sensations which makes me feel as though it really is sucking up all the nastiness out of my face. I like to use this once a week and it can cause a little sensitivity if I use it too much, but I'd expect that of my sensitive skin. Overall, a great mask.

Do you love the Origins/Body Shop face masks? Which are your favourites? x

***** Just for reference, my skin in mainly dry/sensitive with a tendency to become oily around the nose. My main skin concerns are mild rosacea and spot scarring.*****

hand cream round up

Hand creams are a necessity for me due to the ever-changing English weather, my job and the fact that I have dry, sensitive hands. But what makes a good hand cream? For me, it's something that smells nice, absorbs quickly, doesn't leave my hands feeling "sweaty" and instead leaves them feeling soft, supple and nourished.

1. Jergens Ultra Healing Hand Cream £3.49 - I picked this up on a whim one day in Superdrug. I was out of my current product and felt it was a good time to test the other hand creams out there. I've heard good things about the brand and so had high expectations for this product. Firstly  the smell is just awful. It has a very strong scent of what I can only describe as soapy nappies. It has a very watery consistency that takes a while to sink in, so leaves my hands with a horrible sweaty feeling.
2. The Body Shop Almond Hand & Nail Cream - This has a lovely scent to it, very sweet and comforting. I really like the foil packaging as well, but once I removed the lid the product began seeping out with no pressure what-so-ever, which did makes things a bit messy but anyhow. The cream itself is very light and takes a few minutes to sink in but once absorbed my hands and nails feel super soft and hydrated.

3. Avon Care Glycerine Hand & Nail £3.50 - This has a pretty plain fragrance, and the light cream sinks in pretty much within the first minute. My hands do feel soft, but I don't feel like it actually benefits my skin in terms of the long run. It is a nice product however, and does a decent job so would be good for a quick fix.

4. Soap & Glory Hand Food £5.00 - I have tubes and tubes of this stuff from Christmas and birthday presents over the past few years! The smell of this is just heavenly, like most S&G products. Very sweet with its Shea butter, macadamia oil and marshmallow. It is fairly thick but sinks in quick considering. My hands do feel slightly greasy for a while but sniffing them keeps me distracted.

5. Vaseline Hand Cream & Anti-Bac £3.29 - Hands down my favourite hand cream. It has a very unique consistency. The cream itself is very light, however there is a watery substance with it that I think is the sanitiser. The smell is very simple, not strong at all and my hands are dry to the touch within a minute whilst still feeling hydrated and nourished. An absolute dream.

6. The Body Shop Hemp Hand Protector £5-10 - I know Alix of icovetthee is loyal repurchaser of this cream, and it's easy to see why. Although this has an unusual earthy scent, the thick cream absorbs into the skin quickly and does feel like it is doing your hands good.

So, what's your favourite hand cream? Have you tried the Vaseline with Anti-Bac? x

foot cream round up

Now, whilst this isn't the most glamorous subject to talk about, it is one that I take quite seriously. During the cold, winter months our poor little tootsies end up becoming dry and very unappealing. The freezing weather mixed with central heating and the usual day-to-day wear means our feet can end up looking a little worse for wear. Enter the foot creams!

1. Soap & Glory's Heel Genius £5.50 - This is a fairly thick white cream with a very sweet, fruity smell due to the macadamia oil and the orange and lemon fruit acid smoothers within it. You are directed to smother a generous layer onto clean feet and then pop some cotton socks on and let it soak in overnight. I really like the smell of this cream and although it does leave my feet feeling soft and nourished, there is a slight greasy feel which I am not a fan of.

2. The Body Shop Peppermint Intensive Foot Rescue £9.00- This a pink cream that contains cocoa butter, peppermint oil and grape acids to soften hard skin and help prevent cracked heels. This smells absolutely lush and leaves my feet feeling fresh and soft to the touch. I apply this at night after I have showered and just before I go to bed and by morning all the product has soaked in and my feet feel nourished and healthy with a lovely minty scent. A definite win for me!

3. No7 Softening Foot Balm £9.95 - This is a rich, buttery balm with probably the nicest scent out of all these products. It smells almost like a perfume and feels very luxurious to apply. My feet feel baby soft, but I don't feel as though this is helping the dryness, only masking it temporarily. This would probably be a good choice for a nice one-off treat, but not as a foot saver.

4. Foot Works Intensive Treatment Cream £3.50 - This a lot like the Body Shop one, with a very comforting scent of fresh lavender. However, I feel that this lovely, lilac cream is best suited to quick application such as in the morning or throughout the day, unlike the Body Shop cream that I feel is best for a night-time treatment.

Out of these four products, my favorite has to be The Body Shop Peppermint Intensive Foot Rescue! What's your favorite foot cream? x
