goals for 2014

Resolutions.
I don't really like that word. I don't think anybody likes that word! I've made many New Year Resolutions and I fail at every single one of them! Y'know the usual "eat more healthily" and "drink more water." So now, I simply set myself goals or aspirations. I prefer to call them: things I'd like to do in... *insert year here*

So here are my four main goals for 2014!

1. DEDICATE MORE TIME TO BLOGGING
I love blogging, I really do. I'm always reading them and I thoroughly enjoy writing my own posts. It's a way for me to relax and wind down as that is something I really struggle to do. It also allows me to get all of my thoughts and ideas out of my head, which can otherwise keep me awake at night! I'd like to dedicate more of my time to blogging and really have a go at posting something every week. It's a hobby that I love and want to continue with in the coming year.

2. TAKE AN ONLINE COURSE
Currently, I work full time and love my job. But I would like to take an online course in a subject area that I really like such as photography or interior design. I've seen a few already and some are even on offer at the moment. I'd just like to gain some new skills and knowledge in a creative area and also earn an extra qualification that would look good on my cv. This year, I am determined to take on a new skill!

3. TRAVEL MORE
I would absolutely love the travel to every country in the world. I would love to say that I've visited every major city or landmark. That isn't going to happen in a year, but I really want to get out there are see more of the world with my own eyes. I'm quite happy to not venture over water and just explore some more of England! I already have some plans in place for example, I'm going to Oxfordshire with Jack in March, Spain in July with some of my family and having a weekend in a lodge in the middle of a forest in October! I'm even planning to go to Barcelona with my girls too which would just be incredible!

4. SMILE EVERYDAY
I'm useless at feeling positive. I've spoken about it before but I just see the worst in everything and it can really bring me crashing down to rock bottom. But this year, I want to try and smile at least once everyday. Find the happiness or humour in at least one thing each day! I think it'll help lift my spirits and might also help to train my mind to think less "glass-half-empty" and more "glass-half-full."

What are your goals for this year? xox
